Role Overview<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Director of Finance<\/b> is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, governance, and sustainability of FOWES. This role ensures strong financial stewardship, transparency, compliance, and alignment with the organization\u2019s mission of advancing women\u2019s economic development.<\/p>\n

This is a voluntary position.<\/strong> Certain project-based or specialized financial services may be compensated depending on organizational requirements and budget.<\/p>\n

The Role<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Financial Leadership & Oversight<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Lead financial strategy, planning, budgeting, and forecasting aligned with organizational goals<\/li>\n
  2. Oversee financial operations, reporting, and performance tracking<\/li>\n
  3. Advise the Executive Director and Board on financial position, risks, and opportunities<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Governance, Compliance & Risk<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Ensure compliance with all non-profit regulatory and reporting requirements (Canada\/Quebec)<\/li>\n
    2. Establish and maintain financial policies, controls, and audit processes<\/li>\n
    3. Identify risks and implement appropriate financial safeguards<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Funding & Operations<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Support funding strategies, grant applications, and financial structuring of programs<\/li>\n
      2. Oversee fund allocation to ensure accountability and impact<\/li>\n
      3. Optimize financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and scalability.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Reports directly to the Executive Director and indirectly to the Chair and Vice-Chair.<\/p>\n

        3. External Accountants \/ Financial Consultants<\/li>\n
